Theoretical Orientation: (eclectic mix of the following)

  • Person-Centered, Strengths-Based Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Emotionally focused

  • Relational (belief that the therapy relationship can be healing)

  • Existential

  • Narrative

  • Mindfulness based (teaching mindfulness skills)

  • Family systems

  • Focus on resiliency traits and building up social supports

*I consider all of these above mentioned theoretical orientations as guidelines to my work.  At the end of the day - I want to tailor the counseling experience to the specific needs of the person(s) I am helping.

UNCLEAR ON WHAT THE ABOVE MEANS?

Don’t worry! I am happy to explain in as much or as little depth as you would like, what I mean when I am referring to those above theoretical orientations. I will talk about these approaches during the phone consultation and during sessions.
